What is the Papaya Card?

The Papaya Card is a credit-building card designed to help users build their credit scores while paying bills. The card is linked to a credit line, and repayment history and credit utilization are reported to the credit bureaus every 30 days. Cards are issued by Lineage Bank, Member FDIC, American State Bank, Member FDIC, or Evolve Bank & Trust, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Mastercard®. How does the Papaya Card work?

The Papaya Card is connected to a credit line, and whenever it's used for a transaction, the biller receives payment if there is enough available credit on the card. You pay the card back in the next few business days through frequent autopay functionality, which can be turned off. Additionally, users have the option to make manual payments at any time through the Papaya app.

What makes the Papaya Card different from other credit-building cards?

We report the card as an unsecured revolving line of credit, which can support your journey to better credit for the long-term. Additionally, the Papaya Card is integrated into the award-winning Papaya app, available on both iOS and Android.

Who is eligible to apply for the Papaya Card?

To be eligible to apply for the Papaya Card, you must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. resident with a valid social security number (SSN) or ITIN. Applicants will complete identity verification and underwriting steps of the application process.

When will I receive my Papaya Card?

If you are a qualifying applicant, your Papaya card will be issued immediately and will be immediately active and available for use in the Papaya app.

Where can I use my Papaya Card?

The Papaya Card can only be used within the Papaya app (available on iOS and Android) to pay bills.

How can I activate my Papaya card?

Your Papaya card will be activated immediately after issuance, and you can start using it instantly through the Papaya app (available on iOS and Android).

What is the APR for the Papaya Card?

The APR for the Papaya Card will be made available during the application phase. For existing cardholders, the interest rate can be found in their Cardholder agreement located in the "My Account" section of the app or from the original welcome email received upon card issuance.

What lender name will show up on my credit report?

Loans are provided by Synapse Credit LLC, a licensed U.S. lender in designated States.
